Most Memorable Boss Encounters
Here is a thread to recount the glories of a Boss Encounter in any game. You can describe the detail of the fight, or simply name drop and be like "yo, this boss be amazing"
You can post your favourite from any game as long as it is a boss from that game, so like a Gym leader or Elite four from pokemon, or a Dark Souls encounter, or a Shadow of Colossus Colossus, or anything you want.

Hmm.. Well, when it comes to bosses, the first that comes to mind is the one from Chrono Trigger. I really can't say much about it without spoiling it, though.

Re: Most Memorable Boss Encounters
I recently started playing the original Legnd of Zelda. A few bosses stuck out for me.
Aquamentus
You hit his horn six times with your sword. I didn't even take any damage. I walked in, smacked him, he died. I was... disappointed. Memorable in its underwhelming natures. (Admittedly it is the first boss you're likely to encounter.)
Manhandla
I haven't been able to replicate this. I don't understand why, but the instant I walked into the room, I dropped a bomb. Like, The room hadn't even finished loading and I dropped this bomb. For whatever reason, Manhandla was right on top of me. The bomb killed him. Like, it was the most perfectly placed bomb ever and killed him instantly.
Gohma
My Gohma was red, so i OHKO'd him. OHKOs shouldn't be possible on bosses, guys. Not in Zelda, anywho.
While I'm thinking about it: Dark Link from Ocarina of Time. Is the best. Oh my goodness.
That's one of those fights that I'd be cool if it just kind of... kept going forever.
Admittedly, I have usually gotten Biggoron's Sword at that point so it's a cakewalk...
And this guy just looks cool:

Artorias of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC boss is the one that sticks out the most now, I felt super proud when i beat him for the first time.

Sephiroth in KH >__> well.. he was more of an optional boss.. he was really.. really hard. :<
Re: Most Memorable Boss Encounters
Wasn't Sephiroth from like Final Fantasy or something? What's he doing in Kingdom heartS?
IN Paper Mario the 100000000000 year door, there is a boss at the bottom of pit of 300 trials, this awesome mega dragon boss. He's memorable for me even now.

Yes. Kingdom Hearts is a Disney and Square Enix mashup. It has characters from many of the numbered Final Fantasy games (one from VI, a handful from VII, a few from VIII, one from IX and a few more from X and X-2). as well as several made up characters. Some characters are from, "The World Ends With You." You can find a list here.
So, KH just mixes all of the characters together into one plot, similar to how CLAMP did with Tsubasa.

Thinking is good Bano!
although, if you have to think really hard to recall a boss fight, is it really memorable afterall?

There's definitely a couple, but if there's one boss fight I remember, its the damn Ruler of the Sky from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

I liked the bosses from Dead Space. Some were just massive. I like the boss fights from Legendary too.

Re: Most Memorable Boss Encounters
New one for me in a positive (ish???) way.
The Archdemon in Dragon Age: Origin.
I guess it wasn't the fight so much as the cutscene that played directly after dropping its health to zero, though the fight itself had some memorable moments. Anyone who's played it knows what this fight is about. Highlight for Yoyo's experience with the Archdemon, mostly for people who have played/know the plot. (I don't feel like spoilering for some reason?) Mostly I just wanted to ramble about this because I'm currently feeling many feels about it:
I did not impregnate Morrigan prior to the battle. I (Blood Mage) took Alistair (tank, who I had romanced after he said his third word because he's asexy nerd) to this battle, as well as Wynne (Spirit Healer) and Zevran (Archer Rouge who likes to ignore my commands a lot, but is too pretty not Leliana gloriously perverted one of my favorites).
We're fighting the dragon. Well, I'm fighting the dragon. Everyone else keeps focusing on the blasted Darkspawn that keep showing up. The hardest part of this stupid fight was actually getting anyone to attack the bloody dragon. That made the fight rather memorable (in a bad way). Also, at one point, it landed on a section of ground where melee players couldn't reach it. And apparently neither could anything else. Standard staff attacks could hit it, but none of my spells worked. Not even the spells that don't require a direct line of sight. That was weird. I eventually remembered Storm of the Century was a thing and slaughtered the thing several seconds later. It takes ages to set that darn spell combo up.
And then the cutscene. "No, my love. I don't want you to sacrifice yourself!" We argue a bit. We love each other. He is determined to make sure that I live. Blah blah blah. My final chance to say something. I see the option. The one I decide to go with.
(cunning) Wait! One more kiss before you go. (knock him out)
My elf is a good foot shorter than Alistair. And a mage, so basically she swings her staff around (nowhere near as dramatically as Hawke, good lord! Don't get me started on Hawke.) and that's about it. Alistair is a trained warrior in his prime. Wearing the most powerful armor in the game.
They lean in for a kiss and the scrawny elf in a funny-looking hat strait up punches out the big warrior with a funny haircut. (And then dramatically cuts the dragons throat from jaw to collar bone [how?????] and then dies and then Alistair and I cry.)
And that's the story of how Yoyo accidentally canonically died during the final battle. The funeral was okay, but Anora was queen, so the speech was.... obnoxious.
