Why does it always have to go back to Skyrim with you...

If you have a gaming laptop, or a mid-tier pc, you can run most games on steam fairly well. Which opens up a wide variety of games, including SKyrim, and Dark Souls Prepare to Die edition (has DLC) and when the upgraded Dark Souls 2 comes out you can get that, and many times throughout the year there are awesome sales (I got dead space and dead space and Fallout New Vegas for a total of like 12$)

Also, it seems like everyone plays pokemon :0

I've never even tried Skyrim and I only played the OLD pokemon games since I'm not a fan of the new stuff.
