Event RP - Jay/Bano

You and you're team of five descend into the dark underground ruins by a staircase that twists and turns many times. The only thing lighting up the path in front of you is the lights attached to your headgear and guns. As you reach the end of the staircase, you see few natural light sources far off in the distance but you can't make out what they are.

You turn to your team and give them the order to set up some lights and a base camp here at the bottom of the stairs. The two team members that were in the rear as you came down the stairs dropped four large boxes on the ground and opened them up. Lights and other gadgets are inside and within the hour, you have a base camp set up and are able to better see your surroundings. You've come to what seems to be an old ancient underground city.

One of your team comes up to you and asks "So, you think there is really some kind of treasure down here?"

"To be honest, I'm not too sure myself," I continued scouting the area, taking in the ruins of the city. "I mean, there's nothing but dust and rocks. But, according to the books, this place was known for its wealth in its heyday."

Of course, following the books alone was reckless. I had not forgotten factors like the corroding of the possible treasures within, but lots of cross-referencing gave me more confidence. It wasn't definitive, but it was enough for me to make my decision to gather the team and head into the depths.

"We should advance soon. I don't want to get caught in any creature's sights."

Your team share at a laugh, but it fades almost immediately as you give them a hard look.
"creatures?" one of them asks in a mumble. "You can't really believe that there is anything living down here, right? It's all just stone, dust, darkness, and, with a little luck, something we can sell."

"I'd rather be safe than sorry." You tell them but none of them seem to be worried. You move over to one of your team members who is bent over a small device the size of a laptop. He seems deep in his work and only takes notice of you after you clear your throat and speak.
"Connor, how long until we can get move into the city?" You ask him.
"About another ten minutes, give or take. Once this scan is done, we should have a rough map of the whole area." Connor flashes you a smile and gets back to work. You pat him on the shoulder.
"Just let me know when it's done."
Connor gives you a nod and keeps working.
